KISEKI HDC : Birth of a pure Miracle

KISEKI HDC : Birth of a pure Miracle

Son of Ornella Mail * HDC and Carinjo 9 * HDC.
Here is his story:
A colt of two cracks that have marked our lives because all the great sport started by, and with, Ornella Mail which embodied a new start at the highest level for Patrice and a love at first sight for our whole family.

At the time, we needed a touch of madness shared with my father who had “fallen in love” for Ornella. Besides, none of the horses that arrived in our stables afterwards managed to supplant it in his heart. So Ornella … a crack … a star … the meeting with our friends Patrice and Sabrine Delaveau, Bernard and Christopher … the beginning of everything … the memory of my father … Yes, Ornella is all of that for us.
When Ornella joined Les Coudrettes at Domaine des Lys to enjoy the rest of her life, we knew that she could never wear and most likely never have a foal. We had made up our minds when she joined the farm to enjoy our paddocks in good company. This is how, for several years, she has shared her life with our retired mares who have become broodmares … She, with such a volcanic temper, has proven to be the friendliest and friendliest fellow on the estate. Everyone loves her and she loves everyone.
In order to make sure that she was well, we continued to have her followed by our veterinarians as if she were a broodmare. And the beginning of the miracle began … she started to have heat, bad and incomplete, but all the same. Unfortunately our hopes were dashed because no heat was going to end, no insemination was working.
We quickly decided to leave it alone until the arrival of a new method developed in Italy, the ICSI. We immediately thought of Ornella and we launched ourselves among the first thanks to Equitechnic and the Livet Clinic, a real challenge for all of us. A first failure in phase 1 in France, then we managed to pass the first stage with a shipment to Italy but unfortunately without success. We must have spent a lot of time because Ornella had little activity, and then we started again. This 3rd test gave us an embryo which was frozen and sent back to France. And there everything remained to be done. Deciding on the timing of implantation and the choice of recipient was not easy. After many consultations, it seemed to me that the more Zen, healthier and happier the carrier, the greater the chances of success. So we decided to take one of our own broodmares, Roxy Musik (also ridden at one time by Patrice …) to carry the embryo of Ornella and Carinjo.
On D-Day, the whole team crossed their fingers and I let you imagine our joy when all 14 days later we were able to control Roxy full. And it’s been 11 months and 21 days that we have been waiting for this miracle that has just been born, it’s called KISEKI which means … MIRACLE in Japanese.

A new Ornella embryo by Orient Express * HDC has just arrived in France to be reimplanted. So maybe a second miracle to come, we cross our fingers.
Because we are all going through a particularly difficult time in our lives, we wanted to take the time to tell you our story, or rather that of Ornella Mail * HDC to bring you a bit of happiness. And then finally, with courage, perseverance, hard work, research, innovation and a lot of love, we always end up getting there. Congratulations to the whole HDC team and especially to Miléna, Emilie and Philippe who bring our breeding to life, a special thanks to Florence, Loïc, Cyril and Valérie, veterinarians at the Livet Clinic, to Marc and Bernard (on the fingers gold) at Equitechnic, to my father for teaching me never to give up, to my husband for following me in all my follies. This miracle is the result of teamwork.

Welcome to KISEKI HDC.
