April 18, 2025 – 1:00 PM – Peregrina des Lys HDC

It’s always a special moment in a breeder’s life when his first fillies carry on the legacy of their Dam. Fleur des Lys, daughter of Platine du Rouet with whom the whole HDC story began alongside our friends Sandrine, Yannick and now Pierre Fardin and Carinjo 9*HDC, is writing a new page in this beautiful story with the birth of her second foal.
This time, she offers us a magnificent filly by Ermitage Kalone, 4th in the team competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Like all Platine du Rouet’s foals, this new little marvel will bear a precious name.
She will be called Peregrina des Lys HDC, in reference to one of the world’s most famous pearls. Its shape is that of a small pear, its brilliance is inimitable and its various owners have made it legendary.
Discovered on the coast of Santa Margarita Island in the Gulf of Panama in the mid-16th century, the pearl was given to Don Pedro de Temez, administrator of the Spanish colony of Panama, who presented it to King Philip II, who in turn presented it to his wife, Queen Mary Tudor of England.
After his death in 1558, the pearl returned to the Spanish Crown, where it remained as a Crown jewel for 250 years.
In 1808, Napoleon I’s elder brother, Joseph Bonaparte, became King of Spain. His reign lasted 5 years, and when he was forced to leave the kingdom after the defeat of French forces at the Battle of Vitoria, he took some of the Crown jewels with him, including the Peregrine. Joseph Bonaparte voluntarily gave the pearl to his nephew Louis-Napoléon, the future Emperor Napoléon III. During his exile in England, the Emperor sold it to James Hamilton, Marquis and future Duke of Abercorn, who gave it to his wife Louisa. The pearl remained in the Hamilton family until 1969, when it was sold at auction at Sotheby’s, where it was acquired by Richard Burton. He presented it to his wife Elizabeth Taylor on Valentine’s Day, her 37th birthday.
Fleur des Lys and her daughter are in excellent health.
Welcome to Peregrina des Lys HDC, another pearl in our jewelry box 💎✨

April 1st, 2025 – 10:40 pm – Pétunia Express HDC

A new flower hatched last night at the Haras des Coudrettes: Pétunia Express HDC 🌸
A daughter of Justmy Express*HDC and Fleurbelle N*HDC, she continues the tradition of being named after her Dam. Petunia symbolizes confidence, serenity and sincere affection. With its brilliant colors and generous blooming, this flower is the perfect embodiment of elegance and vitality, qualities we’ll find in this superb filly thanks to the good fairies who’ve bent over her cradle.
Her dam, Fleurbelle N*HDC, is not only a formidable dam but also a great jumper. She shone all the way up to CSI5*, proving her talent, generosity and immense heart on the finest showgrounds under Kevin Staut’s saddle.
Her sire, Justmy Express*HDC, is a promising young stallion, French champion in the 4-year age group, now ridden by Reynald Angot. He is the result of an exceptional cross between Orient Express*HDC, twice World Reserve Champion, and Quismy des Vaux*HDC, a major international winner under Kevin’s saddle. With such a pedigree, there’s no doubt that Pétunia Express HDC will carry the colors of her lineage high.
Fleurbelle and her daughter are doing wonderfully.
Welcome to Pétunia Express HDC, one more flower in our garden of stars🌿✨

March 31, 2025 – 9:50 PM – Parker HDC

The births continue at the Haras des Coudrettes! Last night, Horéade des Lys HDC presented us with a superb foal, and not just any foal…
Daughter of Vagabond de la Pomme and granddaughter of the exceptional Ayade de Septon*HDC, Horéade continues the tradition of passing on her talent and energy to her foals. After O’Neal HDC, it’s now a new champion in the making who joins the stable.
His name? Parker HDC, in homage to Tony Parker, four-time NBA champion and French basketball legend. Like his illustrious namesake, we hope he will shine with his speed, agility and competitive spirit.
His Sire, Ermitage Kalone, has yet to prove himself. Team medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, this son of Catoki embodies modernity and efficiency at the highest level, combining power, respect and an incredible will to do well.
Horéade and Parker are doing wonderfully well, and we look forward to following the development of this colt with an exceptional pedigree. Bravo to the whole team for this new birth, and welcome to Parker HDC!

January 20, 2025: Double happiness at Haras des Coudrettes.

Vriska de Blondel*HDC and Justmy Express HDC have given us not one but two wonderful fillies.
Welcome to Petruchka and Panenka Express HDC.
As tradition dictates that Vriska’s offspring have names ending in “ka”, we decided to name the first in reference to Igor Stravinsky’s classic ballet composed in 1911, and the second in honor of Zinédine Zidane’s fetish gesture.
Petruchka and Panenka are also the first offspring of our young stallion Justmy Express HDC, French champion at 4 and son of our two stars, Orient Express*HDC and Quismy des Vaux*HDC.
Many thanks to our two fantastic surrogate mothers, Babel and Dame Jeanne.
