The pace of births is accelerating at the Haras des Coudrettes. After Onyx Jr HDC a few hours ago, it’s the turn of Horéade des Lys HDC, the granddaughter of Ayade de Septon*HDC and daughter of Vagabond de la Pomme, to give us her first foal… And what a foal!
This sublime son of Carinjo 9 HDC is called O’Neal HDC in tribute to American basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal, Olympic Champion, World Champion and 4-time NBA Champion…

15 March 2024 – 9:30 pm – Onyx Jr HDC

When our babies make babies… There’s a magical turning point in a breeder’s life, when his first fillies take over from their dams and even their grandmothers. This is the case with Fleur des Lys, the daughter of Platine du Rouet, one of our first mares to arrive at the very beginnings of the Haras des Coudrettes, born to our friend Yannick Fardin by a cross with Carinjo 9*HDC. Fleur has just given birth to a magnificent foal by Be Express HDC, our first home-bred Orient Express male. So we’ve come full circle.
To continue the tradition of Platine foals, this magnificent foal will be named after a stone, a variety of agate belonging to the quartz family.

13 mars 2024 – 02h00 – Osella HDC

La 8eme merveille du monde vient de voir le jour au Haras des Coudrettes et le moins que l’on puisse dire, c’est que nous l’attendions avec impatience. Nous souhaitons la bienvenue à Osella HDC, une magnifique pouliche au papier de rêve qui n’est autre que la fille de Carinjo 9*HDC et de Call Me Express*HDC notre princesse. Elle peut donc se vanter d’être issue de célèbres parents et grand parents tels que Orient Express*HDC, Kannan et bien sûr la célèbrissime chef de race Bourrée… Rien que ça.
Un tel héritage méritait un nom à sa hauteur et comme tous les chevaux issus de la lignée de Overspeed du Plessis ont un nom faisant référence à la vitesse, elle s’appellera Osella, nom d’une écurie italienne de Formule 1 des années 80.
Merci à notre fidèle Bakke qui a porté notre précieuse pouliche.

Tournée des Grêlons – Carentan-Auvers JUMP 

Reynald and the HDC horses had a great start to the new school year with 100% clear rounds over the first two days of competition. Special mention this evening for Féline de Hus*HDC and Floralie Dk*HDC who both climbed on the podium by taking the 2nd and 3rd place of the big test of the day under the sun of Auvers.

Olympe HDC

2024 being a leap and therefore Olympic year, we welcome Olympe HDC, a daughter of Uricas vd Kattevennen, the star of Harrie Smolders and Délice du Plessis. Délice is the latest daughter of Emblème du Plessis, bred by our friends André and Annick Chenu, herself a granddaughter of Bourrée who has produced Nectar du Plessis CSI5*, O’Brion du Plessis CSI5*, Bloom du Plessis CSI4* and Cash du Plessis CSI5*, among others.

Grand National FFE of Saumur

Nicolas and Absolut Gold*HDC take 2nd place in the Pro Élite event at the Grand National de Saumur.
This weekend marked a fantastic comeback for Nicolas and the HDC horses, who took 1st and 2nd place in their respective events. A good omen for the rest of the season.

🥇First competition of the season, first victory for Nicolas and Fibonacci de Lessac*HDC, who put on a show on the Saumur course with a 72.5%-rated recovery and a double clear round in the show jumping and cross-country tests.🤩

Welcome Onlymy Express HDC

On Friday January 26, 2024 at 9:30pm, ONLYMY EXPRESS HDC opens the 2024 births ball at the Haras des Coudrettes.
The seasons come and go, but each year the wonder remains intact. The arrival of the first foal, the first filly in this case, provokes that unique emotion that every breeder knows. For our entire HDC team, it’s a mixture of pride, anxiety, joy and wild hope that overwhelms us every time.

This sublime, very tonic, full-blooded princess is the daughter of our crack Quismy des Vaux*HDC and Icare Express*HDC, the prodigious son of Orient Express*HDC and Silvana*HDC … a lovely family to start life with.
The foaling went off without a hitch, just like in the books, nature is so well made. Thanks to Hambre his Surrogate mother for the lovely surprise.
