At the Haras des Coudrettes, all births are celebrated as they should be, but some stand out from the crowd. Such was the case with last night’s birth. Call me Express*HDC, our princess, the one who fell into our arms, the first home-bred daughter of Orient Express*HDC, has just given us a marvel: a magnificent foal by Silver Deux de Virton.
For the foals of this exceptional mare, we needed a theme of exceptional names. So we decided to take inspiration from fighter planes. That’s why our new marvel will be called Nighthawk HDC, in reference to the Lockheed-Martin F-117, a ground attack aircraft designed by the USA in the second half of the 1970s. It was the world’s first military aircraft designed from the outset to have the smallest possible signature.
We welcome Nighthawk HDC and thank Gazelle for her kind Surrogate mother.

Tallyne de la Pomme, our 5 years old French Champion and granddaughter of Fragrance de Chalus, has just given us a superb son of Silver Deux de Virton. Tallyne, who arrived as a foal at the Coudrettes stud, is an integral part of our family. Her foals have the characteristic to be like her very close to the man not to say very cuddly even sticking. Like all Tallyne’s foals, he will be named after a city and in this year of N, we have chosen Nanking.

Capital of the Jiangsu province, in the east of China, Nanking is about 300 km from Shanghai, up the Yangtze river. It was the capital for part of the Ming Dynasty.
