Born in 1980 in Chesnay (78) Kevin Staut began his professional career in 1996 winning the French Junior Criterium Championships in Touquet with Vicomte d’Aloys. In 1999 he became French Second Category vice-champion and the following year European Young Rider Champion with Team France in Hartbury. In 2003, he joined the stables of Pierre Baldeck in Alsace, then moved to Switzerland in 2005. His collaboration with Haras de Hus, close to Nantes, began in 2007. The following year he won the Nations Cup with Team France at CSIO4* Zagreb with Le Prestige St-Lois and in 2009, the Nations Cup at both Lummen and Aachen with Kraque Boom. The greatest victory of his young career was the title of European Champion, won at Windsor in 2009 with Kraque Boom. The same year, he moved to Belgium. In 2010, he was World vice-champion with Team France and Silvana and he became World Number 1 in July of the same year.
 
He remained World Number 1 on the FEI Ranking List for ten consecutive weeks from July 2010 to April 2011. Today he is in 7th place. Kevin Staut is the first top level rider to become FEI Bureau Member.

Il est Champion Olympique par équipe lors des JO de Rio en 2016

En décembre 2011, Kevin Staut a rejoint le Team HDC avec Silvana*HDC. En effet, le Haras des Coudrettes a acheté la jument afin que Kevin puisse la conserver et participer aux prochaines grandes échéances. Afin d’épauler Silvana, Rêveur de Hurtebise*HDC a rejoint les écuries de Kevin Staut en avril 2012 pour évoluer sous les couleurs HDC. Ils ont depuis été rejoints par Ayade de Septon*HDC, Silver Deux de Virton*HDC, For Joy van’t Zorgvliet *HDC, Vendome d’Anchat*HDC, Uraeus Blanc*HDC, ou encore les jeunes Fleurbelle N*HDC, Click N’Chic*HDC, Bahia de Mars*HDC, Touchant Van T&L Z*HDC.
